What is Carpet Area, Built-up Area and Super Built-up Area

As Flats are more popular with buyers now-a-days, we have new terms being used by the Builders which are explained below:
1. Carpet Area
2. Built-up Area
3. Plinth Area
4. Super Built-up Area

While there is no fixed percentage for Carpet Area and Built-up Area and this depends on the Building and the Builder.
However now CREDAI is insisting that all Builders incorporate Carpet Area and Built-up Area in the Sale Deed.
Carpet Area: Useable Area for laying carpet inside the flat.
Carpet Area+Wall Thickness=Built-up Area which is around 9% over Carpet Area.
Plinth Area is Area lying within the outer walls of a building.
Super Built-up Area=Built-up Area+Common Areas like Lift, Walkways etc.,
